Using Mortise
Mortise is a woodworking design application operated by Pixel Forty Inc. at https://woodworking.app. These terms describe the conditions for using the service. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to do so. Use Mortise only where you can legally enter into these terms; obtain a parent or guardian's permission where required by law.
Accounts
Provide accurate information and maintain access to your email account and sign-in providers. Keep sign-in links and active sessions private. Contact us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
A verified email address finds and links your account across supported sign-in methods. A different address, including an Apple private relay address, can create a separate account. Choose the intended account when a provider offers multiple accounts.
Your designs and content
You retain your rights in designs, files, images, and other material you provide. You grant Pixel Forty Inc. the permission needed to host, store, process, transmit, and display that material to provide Mortise's features. This does not transfer ownership of your work.
When you publish a community share, you authorize public display and the copying or download features presented with that share. You must have the necessary rights to share it. Taking down a share does not recall copies already obtained by others. No additional intellectual-property licence is implied beyond these permissions or a licence expressly stated with the material.
You remain responsible for your content and for obtaining permission to use third-party material.
Acceptable use
Do not violate others' rights, distribute unlawful or malicious material, impersonate someone, access accounts or projects without authorization, bypass security, or disrupt the service. Do not use automated access to evade limits or damage availability. Supported automation and exports remain subject to the same account and content rules.
We may restrict access or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect users, address unlawful activity, investigate abuse, or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us about the action.
Woodworking and fabrication
Mortise helps plan and communicate designs. Dimensions, fit checks, quantities, cut lists, illustrations, simulations, and exports can contain errors or rely on assumptions that do not match your materials, tools, or site conditions.
Before purchasing materials or making cuts, independently check measurements, material properties, joinery, loads, clearances, and the finished design. Follow tool manufacturers' instructions and applicable safety and building requirements. Obtain qualified advice for structural, load-bearing, or other safety-critical work. Mortise does not provide engineering certification or guarantee that a design is safe or suitable for a particular use.
Availability and your copies
We may update features and correct defects. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every browser or device, or permanent storage of a particular file. Keep independent exported copies of important work. If we discontinue a substantial part of the service, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and any notice required by law.
Privacy and third-party services
The Mortise Privacy Policy describes our handling of personal information. Google, Apple, and other third-party services may have their own terms. You can choose among supported sign-in methods; a third-party outage may affect a particular method.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Mortise is provided as available without a promise that every design, calculation, export, or feature will be accurate, error-free, or suitable for your intended purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, Pixel Forty Inc. is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or business opportunities, arising from use of Mortise. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights. You remain responsible for verifying designs and safely carrying out physical work.
Ending use and changes
You may stop using Mortise at any time. Contact us to request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions concerning content rights, copies already shared, responsibility, and mandatory legal rights continue where their purpose requires it.
When these terms change, we will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes do not override rights protected by applicable law.
