Ash Slatted Lounge Chair | Woodworking Design with Contoured Seat

Ash Slatted Lounge Chair | Woodworking Design with Contoured Seat, designed in Mortise from 29 boards of white ash.

A modern slatted lounge chair in white ash, with seven contoured seat slats, seven reclined back slats, broad flat armrests and tapered, splayed legs. Recessed seat rails and a tucked-in front apron keep the frame visually clean. The model uses wooden dowels and loose tenons rather than visible metal fasteners.

Overall model dimensions: approximately 25.75 in wide, 35.92 in deep and 37.30 in high. Open and copy the editable Mortise project to explore the parts and joinery.

Gallery: the first three pictures are AI-generated outdoor setting simulations. The final two are direct Mortise render exports showing the front and rear construction. Simulations are visual references, not construction drawings.

Build status: this is an unprototyped design, not a tested chair plan. CAD checks do not establish load capacity or stability. Before building for use, have the joinery, grain direction, drilling access and assembly sequence reviewed by an experienced furniture maker, then prototype and test the chair. The outdoor imagery does not establish weather resistance; outdoor use requires a suitable material, adhesive and finish specification.
