White Oak Sculptural Coffee Table with Oval Top and Curved Ribs
White Oak Sculptural Coffee Table with Oval Top and Curved Ribs, designed in Mortise from 26 boards of white oak.
A sculptural white oak coffee table designed as a focal piece for a curated furniture showroom or spacious lounge. Its oval top and repeating curved ribs celebrate solid wood, grain and shadow.
Dimensions: 48 × 22 × 17¼ inches. The 1¼-inch-thick top is edge-glued from four boards and has a square perimeter edge. Eighteen curved ribs form two rows of nine, supported by recessed rails, paired wooden dowels and mortise-and-tenon crossrails. Figure-8 tabletop fasteners allow seasonal movement.
This is a decorative coffee and display table, not seating or a work surface with knee clearance. Leave generous space around the rib base. Use sound, straight-grained stock through the curves, dry-fit every joint and ease sharp edges during final finishing. The digital model has not been physically load-tested.
Images include three AI-generated showroom visualizations and two direct Mortise renders. Use the editable model and dimensions as the construction reference.
